So there’s been some debate as to when the second trimester actually starts. Is it the 13th week? The 14th week? I heard different things and of course the internet was of no help. So now I’m officially 14 weeks today so I’m there! Which means I can now have caffeine again. I decided to not have caffeine during the first trimester, probably because this is my first and I’m super paranoid. For the second I’ll probably go buck wild and not even think twice about it. ;) But now I’m allowing myself a caffeinated beverage a few times a week. The first one was last weekend. Clint and I were out shopping for maternity clothes, which how great is he? He spent most of his Sunday driving Miss Daisy around looking for prego clothes, so sweet. So we stopped at Starbucks and I got a mocha frappachino. I swear the heavens opened up, the church bells rang and the angels sang hallelujah, it was pure heaven!
So now for the fun part……. my cravings/symptoms. Everyone I know thinks I’m having a girl, except for my friend Jeaux she thinks it’s a boy, bless her she’s the only one. Personally I have no idea, some days I think girl and some days I think boy, I honestly have no clue. But here’s what I’ve been experiencing, you be the judge as to what you think we are having:
- Extremely nauseous from the beginning up until week 12. Although I still get some spells of being nauseous from time to time.
- Really bad headaches in week 11, so bad I thought I was dying. But those only lasted a few days, haven’t had them since.
- Heart rate at 12 weeks was 167 bpm
- Cravings: milk (chocolate milk in the beginning), Mexican food (specifically burritos), fruit especially watermelon (which sucks because they aren’t really in season any more), oreos (preferably double stuffed ;) and chips and queso, can’t get enough chips and queso…….so there’s kind of a wide variety there.
- Heart burn like you wouldn’t believe, it’s been really bad these last 2 weeks.
- Emotional: Fine with humans, anything animal related and I lose it. I read a news story awhile back about a blind seal that was abandoned and I balled my freakin eyes out, which wasn’t fun because I was at work and had to try and slip quietly to the restroom so I could cry in peace without anyone noticing….then to make myself feel better I donated money to the ASPCA….I won’t tell you how much but Clint was not amused. ;) Whateves, it was for a good cause.
I think that’s about it, or at least that’s all I can think of, I’ll keep you posted on December 8th to see what the verdict is! Honestly either way we are extremely happy and grateful, just want a healthy and happy baby. :)
I guess GIRL! But, you know how my predictions always turn out...
