Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! Clint and I have a family packed week ahead of us. Thursday we will be going to Clint’s mom’s house for actual Thanksgiving, Friday we will be going to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving with my family and then on Sunday Clint and I are having our very first Thanksgiving with our little family. Even though we’ve been married for almost 5 years, this will be the first time we’ve attempted to have our own Thanksgiving feast.
We decided to start off small, no need to get ahead of ourselves. We are going to have a traditional turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli cheese and cauliflower casserole and then some sort of pie. Clint wanted to do a fried turkey but then I had flashes of house fires and oil spilled everywhere and had to nip that in the bud right there. Poor fella was crushed but I wasn’t willing to take the chance. Clint is very handy but he is notorious for attempting to do things he doesn’t quite know how to do and disaster usually strikes (sorry babe but it's true). So for my sanity’s sake and our houses well being we decided (or rather I decided) to not do the fried turkey this year. J
I’m also hoping on Sunday to put up the Christmas decorations. I wanted to do it last weekend but between my Breaking Dawn marathon and everything else that went down there just wasn’t enough time. What’s the saying, there’s not enough hours in the day? Ain’t that the truth, I always feel like there isn’t enough time for me to get everything done. So we are going to do it this Sunday, for reals. I’m talking the whole sha-bang, tree up and decorated, all other Christmas decorations up, lights on the house, everything. Even though it’s not quite Thanksgiving yet I feel like we are way behind. Everyone else I know either has their tree up or partially up. Some even have all of their Christmas shopping done. I haven’t even made my lists yet. Where did the year go? Every year seems to go by faster and faster. I just made amends with turning 30, before you know it I’m going to be 50. I can’t even wrap my mind around that. All I really want to do is go back in time to being a kid where life was easy and all I had to worry about was which one of my brothers hid my stuff. Those were the good ole days.

Not to be too random, but is there such a thing as a Jewish Christmas tree? I only ask because awhile back Clint and I purchased a pack of ornaments form Target in various shades of blue because it matched the décor in our living room and my brother comes over to watch a football game and the first thing he says to me is “nice Jewish tree”. Seriously? Just because the tree was decorated in blue? Isn't Jewish and Christmas an oxymoron? Oh well, who am I to judge. It was probably just my brother being a jerk, it has been known to happen from time to time. I love our tree, no matter what color it's decorated in. And seeing how I don't like change it will probably be blue for quite awhile. For anyone who is Jewish I mean no disrespect, honestly. Just throwin it out there.
Anyhow, I’m off to my mom’s to hang out with the family and see my little brother who is home from Weatherford. Looking forward to the time off work, as I’m sure everyone else is too. I hope everyone has a fun, safe and happy Thanksgiving! J
Little update on baby Hester.....I will be 16 weeks tomorrow! Everything is going good. We had a follow-up doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Heart beat is strong, everything is right on track. I will say I had by far my most bizarre craving the other night. Chinese food and pickels.....that's right, I'll say it again.....chinese food and pickels. Don't ask me where that combination came from but it was darn good. This baby has weird taste buds.
