My Little Valentine

We had a fantastic Valentine's Day last week. I love holidays or rather the celebrations. I grew up with a mom that celebrated every occasion and always made everything so special. That's what I strive to be like with Stella. I want her to look forward to every holiday big or small and enjoy the little things in life. I can remember being away at college and my mom would send me a Valentine's care package full of chocolates and goodies. I looked forward to it every year. These are the things I want to teach Stella. Not just to celebrate holidays but to celebrate life and family.

The morning of Valentine's day I put Stella in her Valentine's day jammie's and headed to my mom's. I figured she was just going to Gidda's might as well be festive and comfy. I of course had on pink to show my spirit at work. My mom, in true Gidda fashion, got Stella a basket with a "My First Valentine's Day" bib a new teething ring and a toy.

Valentine's Day jammies!

My sweet Valentine.

Stella wasn't the only one getting gifts. Clint surprised me at work with a beautiful bouquet of tulips, which are my absolute favorite. I was convinced we weren't going to do much this Valentine's and he really surprised me. We had originally agreed to celebrate on Saturday since he had to close the store on Thursday, and as if the flowers at work weren't enough, there was a card, a jewelry box and chocolates waiting for me when I got home. He would have had me at chocolates, most things (at least with me) can be fixed with a good box of chocolates. And in the jewlery box was a beautiful pink heart necklace. He really went all out. I felt bad that all I got him was a card and a basket of candy but we had agreed to not go crazy. I should have known he wouldn't listen to me, he never does.

Fun fact, if you put a couple of pennie's in a vase full of
flowers it will perk them right up! True story.

My sweet hubs.

We also got Stella her own basket with bath toys, books and a toy. It took her two seconds to open it but it was worth it.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Valentine's day with their loved one's. With as busy and hectic as life can get you forget sometimes to stop and smell the roses....or tulips. :)
