Well, I had my 32 week appointment checkup on Tuesday. My swelling has gotten worse. It’s not only in my feet and ankles but it’s in my legs now and when you squeeze it leaves indentions on the skin (kind of gross I know). I seriously feel like a human stress ball, if you squeeze me.....I squish. The crazy thing is my blood pressure is perfect, 120/70. But to be safe she's having me check it every week to make sure it doesn't go up. Sometimes it’s genetics, sometimes people just swell, this could be my body’s way of handling the pregnancy. And because my skin is stretching due to all the swelling it's caused me to break out into a rash.....good times all around.J
Luckily, Clint has blood pressure issues so we already have a monitor at home (not good that he has issues, but good that we have a monitor). If the bottom number ever gets above 90 then I have to call her…..and that ain’t good. She doesn’t think it will be an issue right now, but it could be later and because of that she now thinks Stella will probably be 2 weeks early. That would put her due around April 25th. She could still be on time but if my blood pressure spikes then they'll have to induce and I really don't want to be induced. I want to go through the experience of going into labor. There's nothing wrong with choosing to be induced or scheduling an induction, but for me I really wanted to experience it "authentically".
It’s kind of weird to think that by the end of next month we could potentially have a baby. I think Clint’s slightly freaking out and I don’t blame him. You can only prepare yourself so much emotionally before you realize that you've done all you can do and to let nature take its course. We were designed to have babies and to take care of them and by golly we can do this! So for right now we are trucking through our to-do list and getting everything prepared early, just in case.
As for the rest of the checkup it went well. Her heartbeat sounds good. The doctor did say she's measuring big. Based on her measurements, and her feeling around my stomach, she thinks she could be an 8 or 9 pounder. If we make it to 37 weeks she thinks 8 pounds, 39 weeks 9 pounds. Either way, she’s gonna be a big girl......and that's okay. I do, however, blame Clint and his mammoth genes for this new development.J
