Christmas Eve was spent with my family. Louis and Kelly was there with the kiddos, Anthony, his girlfriend Stephanie, my parents and my Me Me. It was fun to see the kids open all their presents. I miss those days when you got so giddy over something you couldn't help but bubble over with excitement. It's just not the same when you're an adult. Although now instead of anticipating the gifts we get we anticipate the kids reactions over what they get. Ahhhh the circle of life. Stella even got a few gifts too from my mom and Me Me. It was fun to get to open presents for her, especially when I know this time next year she'll actually be here with us and it will make it that much more enjoyable.
Clint woke me up at 6:00 a.m. on Christmas morning. I wish I could say this was the first time that's happened but it's not. He just gets so excited, he really is a big kid at heart. It's one of the things I love most about him.J So we got up bright and early and exchanged gifts. Then we got ready and went to his mom's house and spent Christmas with them. It really was a great day.
I'm sad now that Christmas is over. It's not the same looking at the Christmas tree without any gifts under it. This truly is my most favorite time of year. Now it's New Year's Eve and I can't believe 2012 is upon us. 2011 has been such an unexpected surprise. I actually survived turning 30, we are increasing our little family by one, so much to be grateful for, so many blessings. How did I get so lucky? I can't take all the credit. I'm a firm believer that God watches over us and guides us down the right paths in life. It's comforting to know that someone is looking out for you, it makes the unknown a little less scary.
Our big plans for ringing in the New Year is to rent movies, make some chips and dip and spend the evening at home. Lets just hope we can stay awake until midnight. Man we're getting old.J
Even though Christmas is over, let's not forget to share the Christmas spirit not just during the holidays but all year long. From my family to yours we hope you had a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
This is our first every Hester Christmas card. I'm so glad Stella could make an appearance. What can I say....the girl likes to accessorize, even in the womb.
Here's to a new year, can't wait to see what 2012 brings us! And if you're going to be out on the roads tonight, be safe!
