It's Stella's 6 Weeks Birthday!

Stella is six weeks old today! Has it really been six weeks already? Man I am so happy to be at this stage. I'm not going to lie, looking back those first couple of weeks were rough. Getting up every 2-3 hours, learning to function on little to no sleep, trying to decipher her crying ques, learning how to take care of her....it was a transitional period not just for me but for her too. For nine months she's been in a safe and comfortable place, now all of a sudden she's in this new environment and has had to learn how to adjust to her new surroundings. But that was weeks ago and now? I'm changing diapers like a champ! I could change them in my sleep if I had to....wait a minute I probably already have, it all runs together at 2 am. We've got the nursing thing down pact. I can tell the difference in her cries and what she wants. What it all boils down to is I KNOW her. She's not just a baby anymore she's my baby. And I'm not just a mom but I'm Stella's mom, does that make sense? It's the greatest feeling in the world to know and understand your baby and to see their little personalities come shining through.

What have we been up to lately? Well, her gas issue is getting under control...sort of. I knew babies slept, ate and pooped but no one told me they passed gas like crazy! I'm telling you she stretches, she toots....she coughs, she toots....she moves her leg, she toots....you simply look at her, she toots....she is a tooting machine! And it's not cute dainty baby toots, they are straight up full blown adult toots. This has got to be from Clint's genes no way she got that from me.

Our latest thing is she is eating non stop, she must be going through a growth spurt. I'm talking every 1-2 hours sometimes 2 ounces and sometimes 4-5 ounces. She's basically snacking all day. Which if I was giving her formula it wouldn't be so bad but nursing her is exhausting at this point. It takes about 40-45 minutes to nurse her properly and doing it every other hour is a full time job, I just hope I can keep up with her. I'm trying to hold off as long as I can without having to supplement with formula. There's nothing wrong with formula but we've come this far without using it, just trying to keep up the momentum. I will say using the Organic Mother's Milk tea has really helped. I drink it twice a day and I have noticed a huge difference, it's doubled my milk supply. I highly recommend it.

So I promised videos and pics of tummy time enjoy! We try and do it every day and each day she's becoming more and more responsive. She still hates tummy time but what can you do.

Checking out her play mat.

It's tummy time! Ignore my commentary.

Not quite sure what to make of it.

Here's some more adorable pics!

Stella and Uncle Anthony.

Play date with Brady. Awww he's stroking her head.

Tuckered out on daddy.

This is her favorite position. She likes to rest her head on Clint's chin.

Stella with her Aunt Kelly and cousin Katelyn.

Strike a pose!

Go rangers!

Why is she always frowning?
She's stingy with the smiles, she makes you earn 'em!

As she gets bigger and starts doing more stuff I'll be sure to post more videos. Stay tuned!
