Happy V-Day

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I know I did. I don’t know why but next to Christmas it is one my favorite times of year. Since it was our last V-Day before Stella gets here, we decided to actually go out to dinner. Normally we just order in and have a night at home, but we figured we’d take advantage while we still can and go out this time. We went to Tokyo Hayaci which is this hibachi place over in Wylie. I love hibachi! I don’t know if it’s the food, the entertainment of watching the chef’s cook or what but I love it. So we went there and it was delish.

Growing up my mom always made a big deal out of every holiday/occasion. Birthdays, Valentines Day, Easter, Christmas, you name it and we celebrated it. So when Clint and I got married I wanted to make sure that we celebrated every holiday even though it was just the two of us so when we had kids it would be like second nature. For each of our birthdays we put up a birthday banner and have the gifts and cards ready on the table followed by cake or brownies, for Easter I have little Easter baskets for both of us that I get ready the day before, it's just little stuff like that to make you feel special. I looked forward to it every year when my mom did it and I want to do that with us.

Sweet hubby.

Cards and chocolate for all!

Another reason I love Valentines day is it's also Max’s birthday. Clint doesn’t buy into the whole idea of celebrating a dog’s birthdays but I say what does it hurt? They bring such joy and happiness to our lives (or at least to mine, I know Clint and Max are usually at odds with each other) so what does it hurt to give a little something back? So for one day out of the year I let Max run as wild as he wants and I get him a stuffed animal as a gift. Now this is a real treat because normally he doesn't get stuffed animals because he kills/de-fluffs them within seconds of getting them. Although the last one did last about 2 days, I guess you could call that progress.

So far duckies fate does not look promising. L

It's mines!

Valentines Day holds different meanings to different people. For me it’s a day of love and celebration, spending time with the one you love and lets not forget eating chocolate. And who doesn’t love of a little fat guy armed with a bow and arrow wearing a diaper making love connections all over the world? But for my husband it is a day he remembers as the day his Grand passed away 6 years ago. They were very close, it hit his whole family hard. I know he misses her dearly, we all do....I was very fond of her. And I know she’s watching over us, I just wish she were here to get to meet Stella. This is a true testament as to what a sweet man my husband is, even though I know how hard it is for him during this time every year he still manages to find ways to make the day special. That my friends is what we call a "keeper".

Baby Clint with his Grand.

Now I know I haven't talked about pregnancy-related issues in awhile. I promise my next post will be chalk full of it!
