Stella has also started on baby food! And yes, it is homemade baby food. Mama (and Papa, I can't take all the credit) have been making her food. We started off with carrots and have since moved on to avocados. The carrots took some time getting used to and now she loves them. The avocado not so much. I don't know if it's the texture or what. She'll eat it but I still have to mix it with cereal and kind of trick her into it. What's next on the menu? Sweet potatoes! We are going to try that out this weekend.
We had our first choking scare the other night. It was completely my fault. I was giving her too much food to each at one time and she couldn't swallow it all down. Scared the living bageesus out of me! First she was just coughing and then she started gagging and turning red. Luckily Clint and I took an infant CPR class while I was pregnant and auto pilot just kicked in. I got her out of the high chair as fast and I could and tipped her upside down and started patting her (not a hard hit but hard enough) on the back and sure enough it all and I mean ALL came spewing right out all over the high chair and the floor. Needless to say she was scared (mommy and daddy were too) so we skipped the food and just gave her a bottle. I am a firm believer that if I hadn't taken that class I wouldn't have known what to do. Luckily Clint was there and I'm sure he would have sprung in to action, but mommy saved the day this time. And thank God for that.
For whatever reason she loves to lay on the floor in my
parent's guest bathroom. No matter how fussy she gets, you put her
down on the floor and she gets the biggest grin on her face.
I despised this camo onsie when Clint bought it, but I thought I'd throw him a bone and put her in it.
I thought pregnancy went by fast but this is going by way faster. Where's the pause button!?!
